Delete your Sprig account

This page explains how to delete your Sprig account and everything stored with it.
Sprig is operated by Muhammad Haris Siddiqui. The app is
Sprig — Recipe Manager (com.sprigapp.recipes on Google
Play, Sprig Recipes on the App Store).
Sprig is local-first and an account is optional. If you have never signed in, there is no account to delete and nothing of yours is stored on our server — see “If you never signed in” below.
Two ways to delete
1. In the app
Open Sprig and go to Settings → Account → Delete account.
Sprig re-authenticates you first — deletion is irreversible, so it confirms it is really you — and then deletes the account, the synced library on our server, and the whole library on that device in one step. There is no waiting period and no confirmation email to wait for.
2. By email
If you have already deleted the app, lost the device, or the app will not open, email us from the address you signed in with:

Tell us whether you signed in with Google or with Apple. We use the address the request comes from to identify the account, so send it from that address; we cannot act on a request to delete somebody else's account. We complete the deletion and confirm by reply within 30 days, normally within a few days.
What is deleted

| AI relay rate-limit counters | Hold a salted hash only, never your content or a readable address, and expire automatically after 7 days. They cannot be traced back to you or to a deleted account. |
| Purchase and subscription records | Retained by Apple, Google and RevenueCat, not by us, as those companies require for restoring purchases and for financial compliance. They are outside our control — requests about purchase data have to go to Apple or Google directly. |
Apart from the purchase records held by the stores, nothing of yours is kept and nothing is archived. Deletion is permanent: we cannot restore a deleted account or its library, so export or screenshot anything you want to keep first.
Sign in with Apple
If you signed in with Apple, deleting your account removes the account and everything in it, on our server and on your device. Sprig does not currently revoke the Apple grant itself, so the entry stays in your Apple ID until you remove it: open iOS Settings → your name → Sign in with Apple → Sprig and choose Stop using Apple ID. That is the authoritative place to revoke it, and it is worth doing — but it does not by itself delete your Sprig account, so do the in-app deletion above as well if you want the data gone.
If you never signed in
Then there is no account and no server-side copy of anything: your library lives only on your device. Deleting the app removes it. One caveat on Android: the system's own automatic backup can copy app data to your Google account and restore it on reinstall. That backup belongs to Google and your device, not to us — turn it off in Android Settings → Google → Backup, or clear it from your Google account.
