Sprig Terms of Use

Effective date: August 31, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Muhammad Haris Siddiqui (“Sprig”, “we”, “us”) for use of the Sprig app — Sprig — Recipe Manager (com.sprigapp.recipes on Google Play, Sprig Recipes on the App Store) — and the pages at sprig.deepfai.com. Installing or using Sprig means you accept them.

Sprig is a recipe manager. It is not a food-safety, allergy, nutrition or medical service, and nothing in it is professional advice. Please read “What Sprig is not” and “AI features” — those two sections matter more than the rest.

Who may use Sprig

You must be 13 or older. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you. If you use Sprig on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you may bind it to these terms.

Your account is optional

Sprig is local‑first. Your recipes live on your device and every feature works while signed out — there is no account to create and nothing of yours reaches our server.

Sign in only if you want your library synced to another device. Sign‑in is by Sign in with Apple or Google; we never see or store a password. You are responsible for keeping access to the Apple or Google account you sign in with, and for activity that happens under your Sprig account.

What Sprig is not

Recipes, ingredient substitutions, spice adjustments, pantry suggestions and nutrition figures in Sprig are informational only. They are not dietary, nutritional, allergen, food‑safety or medical advice, and they are not a substitute for a qualified professional.

Never rely on Sprig for an allergy, intolerance or medical need. Ingredient lists imported from a website, typed by you, or generated by AI can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Always check the original recipe and the actual product packaging before you cook or eat. If you have a food allergy or a medical condition, follow your doctor’s guidance, not this app.

You are responsible for safe food handling, cooking temperatures and storage. Cook times and timers in Sprig are conveniences, not guarantees.

Your content

Recipes, photos, notes, cookbooks, meal plans and grocery lists you add are yours. We claim no ownership of them.

If you sign in, you give us the narrow permission we need to run sync: to store, copy and transmit that content between your own devices, for as long as you keep the account. That is the only thing we do with it. We do not publish it, sell it, share it with other users, or use it to train AI models.

You are responsible for what you add. Only add content you have the right to add — importing a recipe from a website for your own private use is normally fine, but redistributing someone else’s copyrighted work is not, and Sprig is not a publishing platform.

Your content lives on your device, so keeping your own backups is your responsibility. Deleting the app deletes local data we cannot recover.

Free version and Sprig Premium

The free version includes the meal planner, grocery list and cook mode, and shows ads. It limits:

• 3 recipe imports per week
• 3 cookbooks of your own
• 10 AI actions per week, shared across the AI features

Sprig Premium removes the ads and those limits. It is offered as a monthly subscription, an annual subscription, or a one‑time lifetime purchase. The current price for your country is always the one shown in the app before you buy; prices differ by storefront and can change.

We may change what the free version includes, or the limits above, for future releases. If a change would meaningfully reduce what you already paid for, it will not be applied to a lifetime purchase you have already made.

Payment, renewal and refunds

We never take your payment directly. All purchases are processed by Apple or Google through the store you installed Sprig from, under that store’s own terms. We do not see your card details.

• Payment is charged to your Apple Account or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto‑renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
• Manage or cancel any time in your Apple Account settings or your Google Play subscriptions — not in Sprig. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
• An introductory offer or free trial, where offered, is available once per user and per the store’s rules. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
• Refunds are handled by Apple or Google, not by us. We have no ability to issue, reverse or expedite a store refund. Request one through the store you bought from.
• A lifetime purchase covers Sprig on the store account that bought it, for as long as we offer the app. It is not transferable between Apple and Google accounts.

If a purchase succeeds but Premium does not unlock, use Restore purchases on the Sprig paywall first, then email us — we will help you sort it out with the store.

Advertising

The free version shows ads served by Google AdMob. Where the law requires it — in the UK, the EEA and applicable US states — Sprig asks for your consent choices before serving personalised ads, and on iOS it asks for App Tracking Transparency permission. You can change those choices later in Sprig’s settings and in your device settings. Premium removes ads entirely. What is collected for ads is described in the Privacy Policy.

AI features

Some Sprig features use AI: importing a recipe from a photo or messy text, generating a recipe, suggesting healthier swaps, adjusting spice level, and suggesting what you can cook from your pantry. These are optional and opt‑in. Sprig asks before anything is sent, and the rest of the app works fully without them.

AI output is generated and can be wrong. It may invent an ingredient, misread a quantity, miss an allergen, or produce a recipe that does not work. Always check it against the original source before you cook. See “What Sprig is not” — this applies with particular force to allergies.

When you use an AI feature, the relevant text or image is sent through our relay to our AI provider to produce a response. We do not keep request or response bodies, and your content is not used to train models. The details are in the Privacy Policy.

Do not use Sprig’s AI features to produce unlawful, harmful or deliberately misleading content. We may limit or withdraw AI features, or change the allowance, if they are abused or if running them becomes impractical.

Groceries and retailers

Sprig can hand your grocery list to a third‑party retailer — for example by opening a search at that retailer. We do not sell food, take grocery payments, or fulfil orders. Anything you buy is a transaction between you and that retailer, under their terms, at their prices, and any problem with an order is between you and them. Availability of a given retailer varies by country and can change.

Sprig does not add alcohol to a retailer order.

Acceptable use

Do not:

• break the law with Sprig, or use it to infringe someone else’s rights;
• reverse‑engineer, decompile or tamper with the app, except where law forbids that restriction;
• circumvent the free‑tier limits, the paywall, or the ad or consent flows;
• attack, overload, scrape or automate against our servers, or abuse our AI relay;
• resell, sublicense or redistribute Sprig or access to it.

Subject to these terms, we grant you a personal, non‑exclusive, non‑transferable, revocable licence to use Sprig on devices you control. We keep all rights in the app itself, its name and its branding.

Availability and changes to the app

Sprig is provided as an ongoing service and we may change, suspend or discontinue features. Parts that depend on our servers or third parties — sync, AI, retailer hand‑off — may be unavailable at times. The core of Sprig works offline by design, and we intend to keep it that way.

Ending your access

You can stop using Sprig at any time, and delete your account and its synced data from Settings → Account → Delete account, or by the email route on the account deletion page. Deletion is permanent and we cannot restore it. It does not cancel a subscription — cancel that in the store — and it does not refund a purchase.

We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these terms, or if we must for legal or security reasons. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you first.

Disclaimers

Sprig is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non‑infringement, and any warranty that the app will be uninterrupted, error‑free, or that imported, generated or nutritional information will be accurate or complete.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law in your country, and nothing excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data or lost goodwill, arising from your use of Sprig.

Our total liability for any claim relating to Sprig is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for Sprig in the 12 months before the claim, or US$50. Because payments go to Apple or Google, that amount is what reached us through them.

Apple and Google

These terms are between you and us, not with Apple or Google. Neither is responsible for Sprig or for support of it. On iOS, Apple and its subsidiaries are third‑party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. Your use of Sprig must also comply with the App Store Terms of Service or the Google Play Terms of Service, as applicable. If Sprig fails to conform to any warranty Apple is obliged to provide, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price; to the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for Sprig.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The effective date at the top always shows the current version, and the current version lives at sprig.deepfai.com/terms/. If a change is significant, we will give reasonable notice in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Sprig after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms; if you do not, stop using Sprig and delete your account.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to its conflict‑of‑laws rules, and the courts located in Illinois have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer‑protection law in your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings there.
